Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Áloker ei jharńádháráy
Ke tumi ele[nb 2]
Mor páne cáo áṋkhi mele
Chilum ghume amánisháy
Krpá kare mor káche ele

Báhir bhitar náhiko tomár
Vikashita tumi campakahár
Abhrotthara tuuṋga áṋdhár
Parashe kaluś náshile

Vishvamaner mańikár hár
Ameya tumi atal apár
Shánta snigdha smita sudhásár
Kebá jáne tumi ná jánále

With this same fount of effulgence,
Who are You that came?
Eyes opened, at me gaze.
Like the new-moon night, I'd been aslumber,
Graciously, into my vicinity You came.

No outer or inner side is Yours;
Manifest, You're a string of magnolia.
Rising cloud-born is the light's non-presence;
By Your touch, the flaw You washed away.

The cosmic mind's necklace gem-studded,
You are beyond measure, bottomless, unlimited.
Tranquil and affectionate nectar's essence;
Who would know if You did not proclaim!

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ The latest Bangla source reads "Ke go tumi ele". However the earliest version shows both "Ke go" and just "Ke". The musical notation and early audio file suggests that the "go" was added in error. It does not add meaning.
