Ámi ghana ghume chinu acetan
Shajyá párshve tumi basechile
Bujhini tomár ágaman

Tomár viińár tár keṋpechilo bár bár
Surasaptake jege' ut́hechilo jhauṋkár
Nishiithánile khule' giyeche ruddha dvár
Ámi tabu melini nayan

Jege' dekhi paŕe' áche tomár puśpahár
Mánasaketane rayeche surabhisambhár
Se jena d́eke' bale more hena ghumáio ná ár
Dekho puve prabháta kirań

তুমি যবে এসেছিলে
আমি ঘন ঘুমে ছিনু অচেতন
শয্যা পার্শ্বে তুমি বসেছিলে
বুঝিনি তোমার আগমন

তোমার বীণার তার কেঁপেছিল বার বার
সুরসপ্তকে জেগে' উঠেছিল ঝঙ্কার
নিশীথানিলে খুলে' গিয়েছে রুদ্ধ দ্বার
আমি তবু মেলিনি নয়ন

জেগে' দেখি পড়ে' আছে তোমার পুষ্পহার
মানসকেতনে রয়েছে সুরভিসম্ভার
সে যেন ডেকে' বলে মোরে হেন ঘুমাইও না আর
দেখো পূবে প্রভাত কিরণ

When come You had,
Unconscious had I been, in slumber dense.
Beside the bed You had sat;
I did not grasp Your advent.

Your lyre-strings had vibrated repeatedly;
By octave awoke, raised had been a clanging.
Shut has the door unfastened by the nighttime breeze;
I opened not my eyes nonetheless.

Awoke, I see: Shed is Your floral string;
A fragrant medley has remained on banner of psyche.
As if having called, it tells me: "No more be like asleep;
In the east a ray of dawn do witness."
