Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomáke vijane ceyechilum
Vishvasabháy chile páini eká (tumi)
Prati palake mane bhevechilum
Hrdaye dhare nobo pele dekhá

Bhule gechi din sál bhulechi tithi
Káṋdiyá ket́eche kata diirgha ráti
Tomár tare kata geyechi giiti
Sahaj saral mane biná shauṋká

Áji e krśńá ráte jhaŕe jhaiṋjháy
Ashani nipáte jabe práń keṋpe jáy
Káche ele dhará dile ei niráláy
Spandita kare mor citi-alaká

Yourself in seclusion I had wanted,
But You'd been in global meets; I got not solitary.
In my mind every moment I'd imagined
If sight be attained, in heart I will take and cling.

I've forgotten age, I've forgotten days auspicious;
Crying have I gotten through many nights long.
For Your sake, I have sung so many songs;
With simple and guile-free mind, absent fear.

Today, neath gale and thunderstorm on this black night
Struck by lightning, when tremulous becomes the mind,
Then You came nigh, surrendered at this lonely site–
My psychic paradise, made palpitating.
