Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Prabhát eseche áji nútana rúpe
Nútaner váńii niye púrvácale
Bhávjaŕatár gláni priitikakubhe
Sariye bhariye dite smita kamale

Sakalei ceye chilo sárá ráti
Tamasár avasáne sońálii dyuti
Nay kona capalatá mátámáti
Niirava rabhase pete ráuṋá kishale

Áhave meteche áṋdhárer jiiverá
Cáyniko tárá hok madhura dhará
E bhránti ekdin bhulibe tárá
Prabháter pratibháte nava nikhile
Kśudra e prabháte citimukule

Today in a new form has come the morning
Upon eastern mountain[nb 2] with tidings of novelty.
In love's direction is dogma's lethargy
Cast aside to satisfy a lotus smiling.

All through the night everyone had yearned for
A golden splendor at the end of gloomy ebon.
There's not any restlessness or drunken celebration;
With a silent ecstasy is gaining reddish, tender leaves.

By war have gone amok the creatures of darkness;
That a sweet world might be they did not yen.
But one day this mistake they will forget;
In a new universe with the dawn's inventiveness,
Petty is it at this daybreak in the bud of psyche.
