শোন মোর কথা বোঝ মোর ব্যথা
অণুমানসের ভূমা ব্যাকুলতা
কাজলের জলে লেখা ইতিকথা
ঢাকা সুস্মিত সুষমায়

হারিয়ে গেছি দেখি আমি আজ
কোথা সরে' গেল যত ভয়-লাজ
মধুরিমা মেখে' এসেছো নিলাজ
আলো করে' কালো বরষায়

Mind yearns to get nearby only Thee,
Lying abed in dream or sleep, and awake...
To the time, good or bad, it pays no heed.

At crimson morning on first rise of daybreak,
In floral lines, in tattler strains,
I search, struck by aerolites and stormy rain,
Through fog a dismal ebony.

You listen to my tale, You fathom my distress,
Unit-psyche's copious anxiousness:
A history writ in tears, kohl-drenched,
Hidden by a smiling beauty.

Now I notice that lost I've gotten;
Where has gone excised all fear and shyness?
Coating with sweetness, You have come, shameless,
Black showers illuminating.
