Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Goláperi vane ke tumi vijane
Káṋt́ár májhe base ánamane
Ceyeo dekhilená kácheo ele ná
Katháo kahile ná mor sane

Ogo akarúń eki khelá tava
Liilá race jáo niti nava nava
Ráge anuráge cira abhinava
Marma májhe áso smitánane

Álápe kalápe maner mayúre
Satata nácáo chande o sure
Kakhano nikat́e kabhu bahu dúre
Hese bhese jáo kii kárańe

"In My rose-garden, who are you, sad and lonely,
Amid thorns seated lackadaisically?
Though having wanted, unseeing, you came not nigh;
Not one word spoke you with Me."

Oh Unkind One, such a game is Yours;
You keep making sport ever new and newer.
With love and affection always novel,
Please arrive inside heart with face smiling.

In convo with fantail on peacock of psyche,
Incessantly You make dance to rhythm and melody,
Sometimes from proximate but often very distantly;
For what reason do You float away, laughing?
