Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Balechilum ámi báre bár
Bhulibo ná tomáke ár
He cira nútan tamahsúdan
Káche eso ekt́i bár

Chile ámár managokule
Tamál tarur antarále
Niiper tale jamuná jale
Rekhe' gele smrtirabhár

Eso ámár marme ábár
Karme jiṋáne he sárátsár
Smita sudhár sindhu apár
Jiivane marańe tumi ádhár

I had said repeatedly:
Again I won't forget Thee.
Hey the Ever-New, the Killer of Gloom,
Just once, please come near.

Inside the Gokul of my mind You were,
By the tamal trees hidden.
Underneath Cadamba, on Jamuna's waters,
You left a heap of memories.

In my heart again appear;
In knowledge and in deed, hey the Epitome.
An endless and smiling ambrosial sea,
In life and in death, You're my footing.
