Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Alakta shikhá chilo citakamale
(Tumi) Ásibe bale
Caiṋcala pavane saomya snigdha gáne
Náŕá dilo prati pale

Niil sarovare mor phut́echilo eki phul
Gandhamadhute bhará chilo se rúpe atul
Udgriiva hayechilo mane práńe ceyechilo
Tumi ese neve tule

Áj tumi ásiyácho madhuvane mátáyecho
Veńukár spandane citte dolá diyecho
Kamaler upavan jhauṋkrta pratikśań
Svarńamukul náce mrńálamúle

Lac-colored had been the flame in the mental lotus,
Yourself having said You will come.
On a restless wind with a placid, cordial song,
Every moment You stirred action.

On a blue lake had bloomed just my one flower;
In that shape had been infused fragrance incomparable.
It had become anxious, wholeheartedly had it craved
You to have come, raising up.

Now You've arrived at Vrndavan, and You have crazed;
By a bamboo flute's vibration, unto mind You've given sway.
The lotus-garden is aclatter all the time;
Atop stalk and root romps a golden blossom.
