Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ajánáy chile jáná májhe ele
Tabu katat́uku jániyáchi (ámi)
Jabe jata jáni tata náhi jáni
Ajánár ákár báŕiyechi

Kusumasuvása jaladeri kálo
Girir garimá práńe láge bhálo
Man bheve jáy thai náhi páy
Kena ei bhálabásiyáchi

Tomáke dekhini nikat́e páini
Mana vedii pare sájáte párini
Tabu shatadháy áshá chut́e jáy
Tomáke t́ánite káchákáchi

In the unknown You had been, amid the known You appeared;
Nonetheless, how much have I learned?
When as much as I know, that much I do not discern,
A form of ignorance I have augmented.

The cloud's ebony, a flower's sweet scent,
Mountain's greatness, in life good they're felt.
Mind goes on contemplating, limit it finds not;
Why of these especially, fond have I been?

I observed You not, proximate I didn't discover;
I was unable to adorn You upon the mind's altar.
And yet in a hundred manners hope races on
To entice You adjacent, close by to allure.
