Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tomári stutite tomáre bhajite
Kena jái prabhu tumi balo
Tumi balo tumi balo
Tomári puśpe arghya sájáte
E vaekalya kena halo

Tava salitáy tava diipikáy
Tomár árati kará ki go jáy
Vák manotiita tháko ná tumi to
Stuti bandhane ek palo

Mandir raci tomáre dharite
Mahákásh járe ná páre báṋdhite
Shástra jábe ná páre varńite
Se ki pratimáy elo gelo

To worship You through Your praise,
Why I go on, Lord, You please say...
Please do say, please do say.
Homage to embellish with Your flowers,
Why did this become a weakness?

With Your lamp and with Your wick,
Offering Your greeting, what does it accomplish?
Transcending both mind and speech, You do not persist
Within chains of hymnal praise, even for a minute.

For holding You I build shrines
To One Whom even the vast sky cannot bind.
Scriptures will not suffice; they cannot describe...
Did He arrive and take leave, idols inside?
