Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Svapne ele álo d́hele'
Bujhini caliyá jábe
Sukher sheśe duhkh áse
Tá jeneo kebá kabe bháve

Esechile niirav ráte
Shiuli jhará shánta pathe
Kanak-ketan vijay-rathe
Jániniko kiise cáhibe
Bhávini man káŕibe

Ámár káche bhávanátiita
Chilo tomár e ágaman
Ámár bháve bháśátiita
Chilo e ánanda svapan
Cale' gele ashánta meghe
Hemanteri jhat́iká vege
Kotháy gele táre pábe
Jánini kon anubhave
Liilári madhura bháve

Pouring light, You arrived in dream;
I did not realize You will be leaving.
At finish of happiness comes grief;
Even though knowing it, who ever believes!

On silent night You had appeared,
The night-jasmine dropped on tranquil street.
The golden flag on chariot of victory,
I did not know whom You will seek;
I did not think heart You will seize.

Close to me beyond concept
Had been this Your advent.
In my thoughts unexpressed
Had been such dream of happiness.
You went away, like mist unruly,
At pre-winter's stormy wind speed.
Whereto did You go and whom will You receive,
I did not perceive, in some feeling
From the liila's ideation sweet.
