Báluká beláy base niráláy
Kál ket́e jáy tárá guńe

Ceyechi jáhá táhá peyechi kichu kichu
Cáini jáhá tárá caleche pichu pichu
Maneri maiṋjile madhumálatii phule
Madhupa chut́e áse kár t́áne

Ogo bedaradii bojho ná mor bháśá
Tomáre ghire ghire ámár jata áshá
Ámár káṋdá hásá ámár bhálabásá
Kona bádhár báṋdha náhi máne

দমকা হাওয়ায় মন ভেসে যায়
কোন্‌ অজানায় কে জানে
বালুকা বেলায় বসে নিরালায়
কাল কেটে যায় তারা গুণে

চেয়েছি যাহা তাহা পেয়েছি কিছু কিছু
চাইনি যাহা তারা চলেছে পিছু পিছু
মনেরই মঞ্জিলে মধুমালতী ফুলে
মধুপ ছুটে' আসে কার টানে

ওগো বেদরদী বোঝ না মোর ভাষা
তোমারে ঘিরে ঘিরে আমার যত আশা
আমার কাঁদা হাসা আমার ভালবাসা
কোন বাধার বাঁধ নাহি মানে

On a gusty wind, mind goes afloat.
Who knows to what unknown sphere?
Upon a sandy coast, seated alone,
The time goes by, star-counting.

What I've craved, that I've gained, a tiny bit;
Things I did not wish, at heels they've nipped.
To the Rangoon creepers at the mansion of my psyche,
By whose pull comes a-racing the carpenter bee.

Oh Callous One, don't You understand my tongue?
Round and round You is all of my expectation.
My crying and laughing, my holding dear,
No barrier's obstruction do they heed.
