Lakśya prabhu tumi táhár
Ubhayatah praváhinii
Citta nadi ghare báhire

Upalágháte tat́inii
Bhole náko tomáy jáni
Baddha káráy ruddha shváse
Bheuṋge se phele práciire

চিনিতে গিয়ে তোমারে
বারে বারে আসি ফিরে'
দিবানিশি প্রয়াস করি
মনকে ঘোরাই তোমায় ঘিরে'

উৎস তুমি যে সরিতার
লক্ষ্য প্রভু তুমি তাহার
উভয়তঃ প্রবাহিনী
চিত্ত-নদী ঘরে বাহিরে

উপলাঘাতে তটিনী
ভোলে নাকো তোমায় জানি
বদ্ধ কারায় রুদ্ধ শ্বাসে
ভেঙ্গে' সে ফেলে প্রাচীরে

Having gone to know Thee,
I come back repeatedly.
Day and night hard I struggle,
Around You I revolve psyche.

You are the river's source;
And You are its goal, Lord.
Flowing in direction double,
At home and abroad is the mind-stream.

Wounded by stones is the rivulet;
Still I grasp she does not forget.
With pent-up gasp, the prison bounding
Having smashed, she discards walls enclosing.
