Kanda ar hasa ei niye asha is the 2948th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Káṋdá ár hásá ei niye áshá[nb 2]
E ásháte meshá bhálabásá
Pralay vahni rudra ashani
Cáṋder cáhani álo bhásá

Káṋdiyá giyáchi juga juga dhare
Kánná megher pháṋke phaṋke jhare
Álor jhalak hásir palak
Bhuliye vyathár jáoyá ásá

Manera mukure tava dyuti bháse
Kakhano svaccha kakhano ábháse
Kakhano háráy dúr ajánáy
Ghire áse jiivane kuyáshá

O lord, i have been crying and smiling with this hope,
in which love is mixed. the annihilating fire,
destructive lightning, looking for moon and love.
i have been crying for ages after ages,
the lamentation oozing through the gaps of clouds.
The glimpses of light, moments of smile,
coming and going forgetting the pain.
in my mental mirror, your effulgence appears.
sometimes clear and sometimes faint.
sometimes it is lost to far unknown arena
and mist surrounds the life.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ In the latest published Bengali version the word, ásá, is given in place of áshá on this and the following line. However, the original publication| is consistent in giving the word as áshá. Here, the original áshá is retained as ásá is less meaningful and perhaps even somewhat senseless.
