Balechile more ásibe ábár
Phule phale bhare debe bár bár
Pákhiir kujane vane nirjane
Gáne gáne kena bharechile

Cetaná chilo ná ghumáyechi jabe
Sediner kathá bháviyá ki habe
Samvit dile eśańá jágále
Tárpar kena sare ele

আমার এ প্রীতি শুকাইবে যদি
চিদাকাশে কেন এসেছিলে (তুমি)
মনের মুকুরে চেতনার নীরে
চেয়ে' চেয়ে' কেন হেসেছিলে

বলেছিলে মোরে আসিবে আবার
ফুলে ফলে ভরে' দেবে বার বার
পাখীর কুজনে বনে নির্জনে
গানে গানে কেন ভরেছিলে

চেতনা ছিল না ঘুমায়েছি যবে
সেদিনের কথা ভাবিয়া কি হবে
সম্বিৎ দিলে এষণা জাগালে
তারপর কেন সরে' এলে

O lord, if this love of mine will dry up,
why did you come into the firmament of my mind?
Into the mental mirror with water of consciousness,
intently why did You laugh?
you had told me that you would come once more,
and fill again and again with fruits and flowers.
Why did you fill the chirping of the birds
with song after song in the isolated forests?
When i was sleeping, there was no consciousness,
what is the point in thinking about that day’s affair?
you provided consciousness, awakened earnestness,
after which why did you move away?
