Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

(Varśań mukhar ráte) Kekári sáthe
Man bhese jáy tomáre pete
Tumi jáno ná tumi dekho ná
Tandrá náhi je mor áṋkhipáte

Ketakii parág bale ámio bhási
Tári kathá bheve jete bhálabási
Tári lági káṋdi tári tare hási
Vyathá jantrańá bhuli se bhávanáte

Niiper keshar pulakete shiharáy
Ákásh páne sikta nayane cáy
Sure jhaḿkáre mana viińá gáy
Martya svarga náce tava mádhuriite

O lord, on this night, reverberated with rains,
along with peacock’s call,
the goes on floating to attain you.
do not you know that,
do not you see that there is no drowsiness
in my eyes. the fragrance of ketakii says,
“i also float, go on thinking about him with love.
for him i cry and smile,
forgetting the tortures of pain,
with that ideation”.
the pollen of niip flowers quivers with joy,
looking towards the sky with moist eyes.
with tinkling of melody, the viin’a’ of mind sings,
the heaven and earth dance by your sweetness.
