On the moonlit night along with the moon,
On a moonlit night with the moon along,
what for did you come?
For whose sake had You come?
in the recess of mind, with mild breeze,
In a recess of the mind, upon winds sonorous,
you sang the song secretly.
Stealthily You came, singing a song.
i was alone in deep thought,

and did not observe when the moonlight vanished.
In the depths of my thought I had been lonely;
the white clouds sang through golden lines,
I did not see when has gone full moon at morn early.
and shine was marked in that night.
Like a golden streak on gray cloud's body,
thinking about that the mind quivers with pleasure.
Traced on that gloom light had become.
the heaven comes down on this muddy earth.

getting all the experiences, this impression remains
Musing on that, with a shiver mind thrills;
day and night surrounding me.
Divine realm descends to this dusty earth.
All sense-perception gets this realization:
Surrounding me day and night You are.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Jyotsná ráte cáṋderi sáthe
Tumi esechile kár tare
Maneri końe mandra pavane
Gán geye gele cupisáre

Bháveri ghore ámi chinu eká
Dekhini kakhan sare geche ráká
Sádá megher gáy sonáli rekháy
Álo chilo áṋká se timire

Se kathá bheve man pulake shiharáy
Amará neve áse mát́ir e dharáy
Jata anubhúti páy e pratiiti
Ácho divá ráti more ghire

On a moonlit night with the moon along,
For whose sake had You come?
In a recess of the mind, upon winds sonorous,
Stealthily You came, singing a song.

In the depths of my thought I had been lonely;
I did not see when has gone full moon at morn early.
Like a golden streak on gray cloud's body,
Traced on that gloom light had become.

Musing on that, with a shiver mind thrills;
Divine realm descends to this dusty earth.
All sense-perception gets this realization:
Surrounding me day and night You are.
