During this winter night,
Late at night in Autumn, neath the magic of moonlight,
under the illusion of moonlight,
Please say, Whose words stay awake within psyche?
whose events remain awakened in the mind?
Who is He, that Unknown One, heeding not proscription?
Tell me.
He departed, bearing off my shame and fear?

Who is that unknown,
Won't He return, won't He look back;
Who has taken all my shyness and fears
Doing so, won't He enter mind again?
without bothering for anything?
Oh won't He weave a web of words again
To vanquish heart with fresh thinking?

Will he not come again and love?
Staying alive for His sake, hope orbiting Him,
Coming this time, will he not enter the mind?
Both crying and laughing without any reason...
Will he not weave the web of stories,
With tunes ever new, full of wounded pride,
and win over the heart with a new feeling?
Untimely, I'm going on singing.

I am surviving for him,
and all my hopes are only around him.
Without any cause, i cry and laugh.
Full of ego, in new and different style,
untimely singing songs.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Shárada nishiithe jyotsná máyáte
Kár kathá mane jege ray (balo)
Ke se ajáná náhi mene máná
Niye gelo mor láj bhay

Se ki ásibe ná phire cáhibe ná
Ábár kariyá mane pashibe ná
Ábár kathár jál bunibe ná
Nava bháve jinite hrday

Tár tare báṋcá táke ghire áshá
Akárańe káṋdá akárańe hásá
Abhimán bhare nava nava sure
Gán geye jáoyá asamay

Late at night in Autumn, neath the magic of moonlight,
Please say, Whose words stay awake within psyche?
Who is He, that Unknown One, heeding not proscription?
He departed, bearing off my shame and fear?

Won't He return, won't He look back;
Doing so, won't He enter mind again?
Oh won't He weave a web of words again
To vanquish heart with fresh thinking?

Staying alive for His sake, hope orbiting Him,
Both crying and laughing without any reason...
With tunes ever new, full of wounded pride,
Untimely, I'm going on singing.
