O Lord,
The [[:wikipedia:Mimusops elengi|bakul]] flowers have dropped to the ground.
the bakula flowers have all withered away.
Those tiny sparks of hope have all gone out,
But to some place their pollen's floated away.

The lamp of hope has become extinguished.
With and without light Your game goes on;
The fragrances of flower pollen
Ever You've been playing with everyone.
have drifted away.
Sometimes honey You give; sometimes You but take it...
When flowers fall, we might get fruit.

Your divine game goes on
Your chariot wheels are always spinning;
in light and shade.
From pleasure to pain they're rotating.
You constantly play with all.
That much I realize, and so is it any surprise...
Sometimes you fill us with honey,
Lo, the fallen bakul have returned on Your garland.
sometimes you take away our everything.

Now that the flowers
have withered away,
I shall get fruits.

The wheels of your cart
go on revolving continuously.
But joy and sorrow alternate.

As i know the cause that lies behind it all,
I am not surprised.

Look, the bakula flowers that withered
have again taken shape in your garland.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Bakuler phulguli jhare paŕeche
Áshár pradiipkháni niviyá geche
Phuler parág kothá bhásiyá geche

Álo áṋdháre cale tomár liilá
Sabáy niye sadá karicho khelá
Kabhu d́hálo madhu kabhu náo go shudhu
(Phal) Pábai jakhan phul jhariyá geche

Tava rathacakra sadá ávartita
Duhkhe sukhe parivartita
E sab jáni bujhi nai ácambita
(Dekho) Jhará bakul tava máláy eseche

The bakul flowers have dropped to the ground.
Those tiny sparks of hope have all gone out,
But to some place their pollen's floated away.

With and without light Your game goes on;
Ever You've been playing with everyone.
Sometimes honey You give; sometimes You but take it...
When flowers fall, we might get fruit.

Your chariot wheels are always spinning;
From pleasure to pain they're rotating.
That much I realize, and so is it any surprise...
Lo, the fallen bakul have returned on Your garland.
