O lord, when i had forgotten you,
I'd forgotten Thee,
You personally looked towards me.
But You've been watching me.
I'd strayed from the path;
You've brought me back on track.

When i deviated from your path,
The planet, gone far from its center-star,
You brought me back on the track.
Is it too removed to be rescued?
The sun draws it near invariably,
And likewise You've retracted me.

The planet,
An ocean wave makes a long journey,
although far from its nucleus star,
But never can it leave the sea.
can it ever be dispelled away?
The sea calls to it endlessly;
The star constantly pulls it towards itself.
Likewise You have summoned me.
Likewise, you too attract me unto you.

The wave of the ocean moves far away,
but, can it ever leave it?
The ocean calls it always.
In the same way, you too call me again and again.

Ami tomay bhule giyechinu is the 629th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

(Ámi) Tomáy bhule giyechinu
(Tumi) Nije mor páne ceyecho
Ámi path theke sare giyechinu
Tumi pathe more ene diyecho

Táraká theke je graha dúragata
Haite páre ki se apaniita
Tárá je táháre sadá t́ániteche
Tumio ámáre t́enecho

Ságaralaharii bahu dúre jáy
Ságar cháŕite kabhu náhi páy
Sindhu je táre satata d́ákiche
Tumio ámáre d́ekecho

I'd forgotten Thee,
But You've been watching me.
I'd strayed from the path;
You've brought me back on track.

The planet, gone far from its center-star,
Is it too removed to be rescued?
The sun draws it near invariably,
And likewise You've retracted me.

An ocean wave makes a long journey,
But never can it leave the sea.
The sea calls to it endlessly;
Likewise You have summoned me.
