O lord, you came close, with the essence of sandal,
You had come beside me like extract of vernal breeze;
but at that time, i could not understand you.
In those days, Thee I could not realize.
o ever companion, you were smiling
With smile was my Friend, the moon of mind's firmament;
like moon in the firmament of mind,
But even having scrutinized, You I did not recognize.
but even after seeing you,

i could not recognize you.
Moonlight, by the night its beams were overshadowed;
in the moonlit night, the light had spread,
And yet in a moment why did my heart billow?
why the heart has become agitated in a moment?
Now looking closely, pouring light is You alone;
i wanted to see the light, which You went on pouring.
I did not know that also the moon's light is only Thine.
but in that moonlight, i could not know you.

i asked, “why did you stay away,
I inquired: "Why far-remote had You been?
why did you keep me covered with darkness”?
In gloom You had kept wrapping me."
you told, ”you did not see me, I was never away
Then You told: "My return you did not see;
leaving your mind”.
Never was I missing from your mind."

Esechile pashe malaya nirjase is the 2802nd song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Esechile páshe malaya nirjáse
Takhan tomáke bujhite párini
Hásite chilo baṋdhu cidákásher vidhu
Ceye dekheo tomáke cinini

Jyotsná nisháte álok cheye gelo
Hrday uttál palake kena halo
Ceye dekhi álo tumii d́hele calo
Cáṋdero je álo tomári jánini

Balilám kena dúre dúre chile
Ámáre áṋdháre d́heke rekhechile
Balile ámáre dekhoniko phire
Tomár man cháŕá kakhano haini

You had come beside me like extract of vernal breeze;
In those days, Thee I could not realize.
With smile was my Friend, the moon of mind's firmament;
But even having scrutinized, You I did not recognize.

Moonlight, by the night its beams were overshadowed;
And yet in a moment why did my heart billow?
Now looking closely, pouring light is You alone;
I did not know that also the moon's light is only Thine.

I inquired: "Why far-remote had You been?
In gloom You had kept wrapping me."
Then You told: "My return you did not see;
Never was I missing from your mind."
