Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Pather álo nive geche
Maner áloy dekhi tomáy
Se álo tumi d́hele calo
Kleshe shoke sántvanáy

Tumi jyotir madhyamańi
Rúp sáyarer padmakháni
Serár será tomáy máni
Tái jáci tava karuńáy

Pathe hoṋcat́ legei tháke
Gati ki táy jáy thamake
Tuccha kare sab bádháke
Calbo tava prerańáy

O lord, the light on the path is extinguished
and i see you in mental illumination.
that light you go on pouring
during pain, sorrows and consolation.
you are the central gem within illumination,
lotus within the sea of beauty.
i consider you as the supreme amidst excellent,
that is why i beg your mercy.
the hurts on the path are bound to come
but can they halt the movement?
ignoring all obstacles, i shall go on moving
with your inspiration.
