O lord,
At this late hour, Lord, You came...
You came so untimely.
All the day, Yourself I've invited,
Whole day continuously,
Opening the gate in vain.
I had called you, with door opened stubbornly.

Could not you hear my call?
My invitation, did You not manage to hear it;
Or even after hearing,
Maybe though hearing it, You did not listen.
You did not pay any attention.
Anyway, with tired lap,{{#tag:ref|Presumably from comforting children other than me.|group="nb"}} You fell into slumber...
Arriving in darkness, the reply You gave.

When tired of whole day,
Perhaps my hope, it was inordinate;
I slept, being tired in the lap,
For getting You, there was no merit.
Then, you came in darkness.
I have been calling You, on mercy reliant;

Out of compassion, You came and then went away.
It may have been my adamancy.
I might not have merit to attain you.
With the hope of your grace, i call you.
Then, mercifully, you came down.

Tumi ele prabhu ei abelay is the 2055th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tumi ele prabhu ei abeláy
Sárá din dhare d́ekechi tomáre
Duyár khuliyá durásháy

Ámár d́ák ki shunite páo ni
Shuniyáo hayto káne tolo ni
Klántir kole ghumáye paŕile
Sáŕá dile ese tamasáy

Hayto e chilo duráshá ámár
Guń chilo náko tomáke pávár
Krpá bharasáy d́ekechi tomáy
Ele cale gele karuńáy

At this late hour, Lord, You came...
All the day, Yourself I've invited,
Opening the gate in vain.

My invitation, did You not manage to hear it;
Maybe though hearing it, You did not listen.
Anyway, with tired lap,[nb 2] You fell into slumber...
Arriving in darkness, the reply You gave.

Perhaps my hope, it was inordinate;
For getting You, there was no merit.
I have been calling You, on mercy reliant;
Out of compassion, You came and then went away.
