(বাঁশী) বাজিয়া উঠিল যমুনায়
অহরহঃ বাজে ভুলি' গৃহকাজে
মন ছোটে নদী কিনারায়

ময়ূর চলেছে মেলিয়া কলাপ
বনহরিণীরা করিতে আলাপ
অলি গুঞ্জরে মধু সংলাপ
করে' চলে কেন পাপিয়ায়

কার তরে এত ফুটে' যায় ফুল
মনের পরাগে দুলিয়ে' দোদুল
ভাবের গোকুল ছন্দে আকুল
নেচে' চলে কার দ্যোতনায়

The flute started playing at the Yamuna’ river.
It goes on playing continuously,
and forgetting the household works;
the mind goes on rushing at the shore of the river.
The peacock goes spreading the wings,
the wild deer cry.
The honeybee hums,
why the papiya’ bird goes on speaking?
What for so many flowers bloom
with mental fragrance swinging?
The Gokul of feelings
is restless with rhythm,
at whose signal it goes on dancing?
