On Sarkarverse, each song of Prabhat Samgiita is treated to a separate article. The lyrics are presented in both Roman script and Bengali script (Bangla). And each song is retranslated on a line by line basis. However, that project may take quite a while to complete. On Prabhatasamgiita.net, the lyrics (Roman script only) and the original translations (perhaps by Acarya Vijayananada Avadhuta or Acarya Priyashivananda Avadhuta) are all given on a single HTML page. Here on Sarkarverse, that same page (as of 2016 September 25) has been converted into five Wiki articles (see Songs 1-5018). Except for some very limited formatting and the inclusion of links to the audio file lists, nothing has been changed in respect to the Prabhatasamgiita.net HTML page.[1]

After the date, there may be one or more abbreviations. These abbreviations typically refer to the style of melody or rhythm. For example, D stands for Dadra, and K stands for Kaharva. Once again, this information may vary with other, possibly more reliable sources (for example, the notes of P. D. Narayan[10].

With a forceful flow of life,

Purport:
For those who move along the path of greatness and magnanimity, so much meanness and
littleness stands as insurmountable obstacles. They know this and their song is like a
fountain of divine effulgence it is not a materialistic song. Their song does not move
along a smooth road. In their path there are so many thorns, so many ups and downs just
like a fountain which flows along various rapids and finally merges into the sea. They
recognize no barrier, saying "We move on and on, with all our innate vitality, ever
breaking all the iron prison walls around us."

Darkness has come to an end, crossing the threshold at the edge of light. Now is the
proper time to call all and announce that the crimson dawn has come. The beautiful sky is
studded with so many stars, the air is sweetlyscented. The atmosphere, lithosphere,
hydrosphere everything is closely related to me. All the flora and fauna I must preserve;
I must save them from premature extinction because I love everything of this earth. I am a
NeoHumanist. I call one and all to come and create a new rhythm.

In the midst of silence
who are You who came,
breaking my deep, dark slumber?

Breaking my slumber,

When the raging storm
had extinguished my lamp,
You lit the flame of knowledge in my eyes,
and broke my slumber.

In the small garden playhouse,
those who come, go far, far away.
Their path is a beacon of light today.

Lighting Your lamp to awaken me
You have broken my slumber.

O Paramapurus'a (the Supreme Consciousness), You have come to break the bondage of slumber.
You lighted the lamp of knowledge which was extinguished by thunderstorms.
You are the lighthouse that saves us from any destruction, from the ravages of cyclones.

I have the intense desire to come to You and move along with You,
O Paramapurus'a (Supreme Consciousness), but there are innumerable obstacles on the way.
I want to move along with You, but in this material world, my mind is always being
disturbed by various worldly bondages and obstacles.
O my Lord, crush all those bondages, those walls of obstacles, and take me along with You.

So many worldly waves come and go according to Your desire, so please help me I am ready
to do anything and everything for You. Take away all those obstacles so that I may easily
reach Your lotus feet.

That gloomy despair is dispelled today,
by the touch of infinite light.

The thirst of the desert
has vanished in that sweet and charming shade.

In my song, there is no demand.
In my smile, there is no attainment.

All my movements, all my expressions
move in the flow of exquisite beauty
towards that beacon of infinite light.


Purport:
The pathos of darkness has been expelled.
It has come in contact with the divine light, the divine effulgence. All my pains of this
material world have been banished by Your sweet benign touch; thus all darkness has been
removed. The thirst of the desert, the draught of the desert is no more with me, and my
mind is now throbbing with divine energy and dancing in divine ecstasy.

Purport:
Paramapurus'a (the Supreme Consciousness) has a magical mirror (maya mukura),
and with the help of that magical mirror He can see whatever one is, whatever one does.
He can feel the heart beating of each and every individual, and knows the entire evolution of this universe.

O Paramapurus'a, that is why one cannot do anything secretly,
that is why one cannot think anything secretly.

You are with each and every action of this physical world.
You are with the movement of each and every cell of the human mind;
and You are with each and everyone with Your silent beauty.

Today, I remember those long forgotten days
of the auspicious dawn of my life,

Purport:
O Lord, I remember the past days when I came into this world as a newborn child my first
communication with the world was through crying. Not tears, crying. A newborn child does
like this (demonstrates). So the first talk to the world is crying; there may or may not
be tears. In the first phase You come to me in the form of so many small things, childhood
needs; then You come in the form of so many big expressions water, air, sky. And then in
the final phase, You come in the form of songs.

O Paramapurus'a, do not desert me. I am spending sleepless nights for You. The universe

When the air was heavy with moisture and while I was in a deep dream, a very sweet dream,
I saw that an unknown traveler had come. His eyes were full of affection and His sweet
smile said who He was. But as soon as I could know who He was, He no longer remained
unknown. Then He was not at all an unknown traveler, He was a known personality, and
everyone knew who He was.

The clouds have vanished and now there are no worries or anxieties. Now we are proceeding
towards the supreme destination, the supreme desideratum of life. There is no obstacle now
in the blue sky. Some people from another world, the divine world, are calling and saying,
"You brothers and sisters of Earth, come forward. We are ready to join hands with you."
Let there be a happy union between the physical or mundane world and the divine world. Let

Purport :
We human beings remain preoccupied with worldly activities buying, selling, bargaining.
Sitting in these, we keep ourselves engaged. O Paramapurus'a (Supreme Consciousness), what
do You do all day? Please tell me in what kind of activity You keep Yourself busy.

Yours is the macrocosm. All the thoughts, all the ideas of the universe are all within Your
mind. In that Cosmic Macrocosm, I fail to understand what You do and how You can manage
with so many thoughts and so many feelings with all the joys and sweetness, with all the
sorrows and miseries of all the creatures. If I were in Your situation I would become mad!

What do You do with all Your ideas and expressions? And not only that, there have been
certain polarizations regarding Your thoughts and expressions, ideas and activities. Some
people are Your ardent supporters, some are against You; some dearly love You, and some
are vehemently opposed to You. With all Your supporters and opponents, how do You continue
playing Your liila (divine game)? It is something wonderfully strange! As much as I have
understood, I still have become confused!


Now the question arises I want to know from You very secretly besides all these,
have You got any other personal secret with You? Please tell me. I want to say something to You.
Be with me and hear me. When due to sorrow I am unable to say anything, hear me also then.
While on the journey of my life, when I feel tired, at that time also be with me, inspire me and remove my afflictions.

You appeared before me suddenly in the night and said smilingly, "I am very busy with so
many activities and thus I cannot stay with you. I must go, I must go, I must go !" What
is this? You said, "Everybody in this world wants something from Me, but it is not
possible to grant everything they ask for. And you know, some of these demands are logical
and justifiable, some are not. Even so, I am to satisfy them, at least giving something
if not fully quenching their thirst, at least partially, I must quench their thirst. And
with these matters, I remain engaged. "There are many people who say, 'O Paramapurus'a
(Supreme Consciousness), You are mine, so You should meet me secretly, confidentially in
my heart. I want personal contact with You' I am to go to them also, and this requires
some time too. So there is shortage of time, there is paucity of time. "There are also
some very intelligent people who say, 'O Paramapurus'a, I don't what anything from You, I
want You! Those who say this actually want everything because they want Me! They are the
most clever and intelligent sa'dhakas (spiritual aspirants), so I am to respond to their
call also. I am to fulfil their demands and their desires. In fact, it is these people
whom I like the most, "So you sa'dhakas, I have a great deal of work to do. I have come
for only a short while, and so it is difficult for me to remain long with you. I must go;
I must go, I must go."

endowed with a developed mind. And what have they done? Out of their deep love for Me,
they have brought Me so close to them so that in all their hearts, in all their minds, I
have closely associated Myself. From these individual minds I cannot remain apart. I am
completely associated with them, I am inseparably linked to them.

O Lord, what shall I say to You? You have broken my dark slumber, and now I shall move on
the path of light. My flower which was long neglected, You have threaded into Your garland.
Those offerings of my mind were soiled with the dust of pettiness, You have graciously
taken them on Your lap. I have given away my all, and then only I have received You.
Henceforward, I shall move along Your path. Only Your words I will hear, only Your

Purport:
There are so many charms, so many objects of fascination on this earth, but the
accumulated force of all these sweet worldly attractions is far less than the attraction
for Paramapurus'a (the Supreme Consciousness). Before this Supreme Attraction all other
worldly attractions fade. The mind wants a closer affinity to Him, and no charms, no
attractions, no fascinations of this mundane world can create any obstacles on the path.
Now there remains the eternal question why is the cosmic attraction so powerful and
irresistible? Why is the call of the Great so great?

For a long time, I have been moving towards You.

In this flow of movement

But this dusty earth is never without You.
It flows in Your rhythm, towards immortality.

Whatever one thinks, whatever one sees, whatever one says, all these expressions are
rhythmic expressions, and these rhythmic expressions come from You, remain with You, and
go back to You. Whatever was said, millions of years ago, was sung or was expressed, all
is still there in the storage of the Cosmic Mind. No vibration is lost forever. Do not
think that anything is lost nothing is lost, nothing dies forever. And that is why all
the rhythms of this universe, all the celestial rhythms, and all the mundane rhythms flow
towards You. You are the ultimate goal, You are the Supreme Desideratum. Everything moves

The sky and the air are the essence of nectar.
The call of the dark clouds
produces sweetness in my heart.

The paincajanya conch is blowing.
What a sweet melody of dance and song!
What a flood of effulgence in my heart!

I have lost all sense of direction,
listening to the call of the Supreme.

Who is calling me off and on
to an unknown land,
with such sweet song?

After the darkness, such effulgence!

Suddenly my whole being is soothed and calm
and my heart is filled with that inner sound.


Purport:
Paramapurus'a (Supreme Consciousness), who is also known as Lord, Krs'n'a, has come so
close to me, and I am listening to the sweet music of His flute. This flute sound of
Paramapurus'a, this internal sound is the om'ka'ra sound. Because of my coming in close
proximity to His divine presence I hear that divine sound, and I find that the sky, the
air, and everything of this universe has been filled with divine nectar and charged with
divine fervour. I hear that cosmic sound of that cosmic flow. Now there is nothing left to
be attained everything has been attained.

Paramapurus'a (the Supreme Consciousness) is always with everyone, and not only is He with
everyone, He helps everyone in all circumstances, whether good or bad, sinner or virtuous.
He is just like a fountain of fresh water in the desert; He is just like a festival of
light in a dark night. Now, when this fact has been known to all, that You are the helper
of all and no one can be without You, then You no longer remain unknown regarding You
everything has become known to all. So now there is no necessity of this hideandseek play
with us! Come in the forefront and proclaim Your true identity saying, "I am
Paramapurus'a," and don't play hideandseek with us any longer. And You know, one can hide
only in darkness, or in a closed place. But the path You have shown to us is glittering
with light, and there is no dark place on it so where will You hide Yourself on that
glittering path? It won't be possible now for You to play hideandseek with us, so please
give up this particular habit of Yours it is a defective idea. The days of playing
hideandseek are over.

Purport:
One can have a rough idea, a microscopic idea of God only when Paramapurus'a (the Supreme
Consciousness) desires it. Without His desire, nothing can be done. Even a blade of grass
cannot move without His support, without His order. You came from beyond the veil of
darkness, and You loved me without caring for my qualifications and disqualifications.
This is nothing but Your mercy, and that is why I say that You are mine. And You have
taught me how to know You. You know, everything is the object of Paramapurus'a:
Paramapurus'a is the Supreme Subject, the Supreme Subjectivity. He cannot be the object,
for He sees everything. He is the subject, and the entire universe is the object; but
Paramapurus'a Himself teaches the microcosms, the human beings, to make Him their object.
That is, during sa'dhana, the sa'dhaka becomes the subject and Paramapurus'a becomes the
object. Such a vast entity cannot be the object He is the subject but He Himself has
taught that during sa'dhana (spiritual practice), "You should accept Me as your object."
And He has further taught that "If you know Me, you will know yourself also."

Purport:
Along the path of progress, the movement towards the goal is not a straight and plain
road. There are so many ups and downs. O Lord, You have been with me during the ups and
also during the downs. In my pleasures You were with me in the smiles on my face, and in
my pains also You were with me, in the tears in my eyes. You have been with me in all
circumstances and in all conditions You never leave me. You are so near to me, You
maintain the closest proximity to me You are my closest friend.

You may say whatever You like, but You must know that mine is a pauseless march I go
ahead without pause, and whatever I say, I say straightforwardly and without any
sentiment. I am always under all circumstances, outspoken. In all directions, nature is
bountiful and beautiful, full of love and full of melody; and amidst this natural beauty I
am simple and straightforward, there is no curvature in me. I am in search of a particular
personality, and I know that personality is also in search of me. and I all know that
these tiny songs of mine have been accumulated by Him. He is preparing a garland out of my
songs.

The Lord came with the fragrance of the bakula flower and with a wave of sweetness, with
the rhythm of the honeybee. In His eternal movement there cannot be any full stop. When we
say "This is the last point," then we see that it starts once again. A river may dry up
amidst the desert, but the flow of life will not dry up, even amidst the desert of
obstacles. O Parmampurus'a (Supreme Consciousness), when You are with me, no obstacle can
stand before me as insurmountable even iron gates will crumble to pieces when Your grace

What is the honeybee in the bower
trying to say with its buzzing?

Those who hear the language of the heart,
what pangs of yearning do they try to express,
playing on the strings of the lyre of their minds?

For such deep feelings there is no language.
For such infinite desire,
there is no strength of attainment.

All glories, all greatness
lie prostrate at Your feet.

All lotuses,
pure or impure,
seek to offer themselves to You.



Purport:
What are the buzzing bees trying to say? They want to say something about Paramapurus'a
(the Supreme Consciousness), and those who can hear the language of the heart, they also
want to say something. Everybody wants to express something, but the difficulty is that,
where there is depth of ideas, depth of feelings there language fails to express it. There
may be so much desire, so much inner longing to express something, but there is no stamina
for expression. So under such circumstances there is no other alternative but to surrender
at His altar, and offer all the lotuses of human expression unto Him. These lotuses may be
clean and pure, or they may be dirty but even if they are dirty, still Paramapurus'a will
accept them. He will accept them.

The Lord of effulgence has come today, and due to His presence, due to His august visit,
the dark shades of immorality are fast vanishing away in fear. And in this moment, in this
juncture, the Supreme Purus'a, the Lord of all strength and vigour, is saying
comfortingly, "O human beings, don't be afraid, the fogs are fast disappearing." In the
stars, moon and other planets life is dancing. There is no fear, no fear the Lord of
light has come.

of thorny date trees,
moist with dew,
winter has come with encrusted snow,
building new glaciers of ice.

The birds and animals rush away to far off lands
to preserve their lives and enjoy warmth,
in the hope of finding a new sun.

The water lily no longer blooms with blushing sweetness.
Tell me, today, at whose call, in this chilly dawn,

did the beautiful earth became bare?

Winter came, like an ascetic yogi.

bringing images of colourful flowers,
flowers without fragrance, without nectar,
and the pale light of the sun.

When the sun was near,

"I cannot endure this unbearable heat
O awesome Lord, be gracious enough
To grant us the gift of rain showers!"

But now, in the pale light of the sun,
I think

"It was better when the sun was near."

Listen one and all, O listen,
the distant sun will again come near.
Do not be anxious!

In the cold of the earth,
in the pale light of the sun,
with the song of hope,
we paint pictures of a new time to come.

The silk cotton trees are laden with seeds.
On the grapevine, clusters of grape hang low,
and in the bower of ma'dahavii flowers
swarms of black bees are humming around the blossoms.
I shall offer Him flowers in my outstretched palms.




In the summer holiday season, if He comes,
I will offer handfuls of flowers,
I will give flowers, only flowers.

In the crimson dawn sky
Your rhythmic crimson feet
remain beside the Bela
and Ca'mpaka flowers.
To Your rosy feet I will offer
handfuls of flowers.

Still the cuckoo speaks something.
In the morning and evening
the southern breeze blows.
In the branches of the Kin'shuka tree
the nightingale is calling.
The river bed has almost dried up.

Almost all the flowers of the
Ashoka tree have fallen.
The Sha'lmali tree is full of seeds.
The bunches of grapes
are growing in abundance.

Today, in the Ma'dhavi grove
in the cluster of flowers,
bees are humming
around flower blossoms.
